News & Updates

October 2025

It’s a busy month at Unity Fired Arts! We’ve been working with new artists and growing our relationship with our neighbors. Hopefully you’ve seen one of our adverts either in a local publication or online. We’re growing but we still need more members!

If you aren’t a ceramic artist but you would like to support the arts, consider becoming a studio patron to provide access to those who may not be able to afford it.

If you’d like something more tangible, please come out to our Silent Auction on Saturday October 25th between 5pm and 7pm to bid on some wonderful pieces from established and emerging artists.

We’ve dropped the events and workshop page from the site. This is partially due to the lack of registrations for the classes and events. To be honest, we’re probably a bit small to group our members yet and not enough people have heard of us yet to offer classes with any regularity.

We have 10 custom glazes at this time, and will be adding a wider selection of underglaze options and possibly colored slip. We’ve also listed our Kilns on kilnshare.com so we can now fire pieces for others. If you simply need a backup or if you need to rush a couple dozen pieces for an event, we’re here for you.

A thrown cylinder with a collapsed side. It gives the feeling of a disappointed person crossing their arms.

Workshops, events and scheduling update

We’ve been using Square’s event system for the last couple of months, and I’ve found it to be clunky and disappointing. I’m looking at a calendar system to make things more sensible.

Starting in September, we’ll be adding weekly workshops to refresh the skill of those who haven’t worked with clay in some time. We’ll also be adding some other workshops as the new system is implemented. If you are looking to run a workshop at our studio, you can reach us at office@unityfiredarts.com. If you have any techniques you’d like to see in a workshop, we also encourage you to email us as well.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Our community grows…

Thank you to all our members! Our membership continues to climb as we stabilize the studio processes and build out the small conveniences you’d expect to find in a community studio. It’s our goal to become the destination for aspiring ceramic artists to grow their careers. To support this goal, we seek members and sponsors to offset the cost of business so we can focus on retaining open studio time for members to explore their creativity without bounds or deadlines. A process that will build strong self-reliant artists that can focus on finding their voice in clay.

If you want to volunteer, sponsor, or provide gifts of equipment or tools, we are always looking. If you are interested in running technique workshops, mentorship or giving individual assistance: we are currently looking to grow the instruction schedule.

Thank you!

Now Open

We are now accepting memberships, and for the time being we're offering members unlimited hours! We’d like to understand better what times work for you, and what the average amount of time for our members works out to be.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to being a part of Kitsap County’s rich artistry.
